<title>May 27th 2007 - NP&amp;D Takes 3rd and 2nd at Alma</title>

<description>The Nashville Pipes and Drums went to Alma over Memorial Day weekend taking 3rd on Saturday in the Quick March competition and then 2nd on Sunday in the U.S. Open Pipe Band Championship.  The big news of the day was the drum section taking 1st !!!!

<description>The Nashville Pipes and Drums placed 1st in the Open Competition at the Gatlinburg Scottish Festival and Games.  In the Open Competition we went up against not only the other bands in grade 4 but those in grades 3 and 5 as well.  As a result of beating out the grade 3 bands who took the field, Nashville Pipes and Drums took &quot;Band of the Day&quot; honors.

Not a bad way to start the 2006 competition season.</description>

<title>May 21st 2006 - NP&amp;D Will Play in the Hillsboro-West End Neighborhood Parade</title>

<description>The Nashville Pipes and Drums will once again play in the annual Hillsboro-West End Neighborhood Parade (AKA Dragon Parade &amp; Ice Cream Social).  

The 14th annual NEIGHBORHOOD PARADE forms at the corner of Natchez and Blair around 2:30 Sunday afternoon May 21. We begin marching at 3:00 p.m.

The Nashville Pipes and Drums will lead the parade. They will be followed by an 80 foot, good luck,
NEIGHBORHOOD DRAGON who awakens each Spring.

We march to Elmington Park – up Blair, left on Marlborough, right on Ransom, and left on Byron and into the park.  At the park we will eat ice cream and play.  And who knows, the NP&amp;D might just circle up for an additional performance.</description>

The theme of the parade is &quot;The Beauty of Christmas.&quot; Lynnette Cole O’Nan, Miss USA 2000, of Spring Hill and the owner of La’Rue Beauty in Franklin and Marshal will serve as Grand Marshal.</description>

Founded in 1984, the band performs frequently in the Middle Tennessee area, as well as throughout the southeast at various Scottish games and festivals. Their spring 2003 concert at The Renaissance Center drew a full house.
