In the Open Competition we went up against not only the other bands in grade 4 but those in grades 3 and 5 as well. As a result of beating out the grade 3 bands who took the field, Nashville Pipes and Drums took "Band of the Day" honors. Not a bad way to start the 2006 competition season. The 14th annual NEIGHBORHOOD PARADE forms at the corner of Natchez and Blair around 2:30 Sunday afternoon May 21. We begin marching at 3:00 p.m. The Nashville Pipes and Drums will lead the parade. They will be followed by an 80 foot, good luck, NEIGHBORHOOD DRAGON who awakens each Spring. We march to Elmington Park – up Blair, left on Marlborough, right on Ransom, and left on Byron and into the park. At the park we will eat ice cream and play.
